I am intending to write an Information page for the New Zealand Arms Register Team and an article for the New Zealand Antique and Historical Arms Association Gazette on Sterling sub-machine guns (SMG)s.
I was wondering if any of you have contemporary photos of New Zealand soldiers, sailors, airman, or Police armed with Sterling 9mm SMGs, which I could use to illustrate the articles.
New Zealand bought 2006 of the Mk 4 Sterlings in the later 1950s. They were used in Malaya, Borneo and Vietnam among other places. They were also issued to units for training within New Zealand.
