RNZA Band News

Bob Davis writes:
Our Artillery Band is in great demand and currently going through a pretty busy period. During Easter week they played two Anzac events, at the Edmund Hillary and Grace Joel Retirement Villages in Auckland, and on Anzac Day itself led parades at Panmure, Birkenhead and Auckland Domain, then took part in the Ranfurly Veterans’ Home service, and finally played an afternoon concert at Mt Wellington RSA.
On May 10th they are performing an evening concert at Eastcliffe Retirement Village, and they will be travelling to Linton Camp to provide the music for the Gunners Day Parade on Thursday 26th May, when 16 Field Regt has received consent to be awarded and wear the Korean Presidential Citation won at the battle of Kap’yong 23-25 April 1951.
On Monday 30th May at 11.00am the Band is performing ‘Morning Melodies’ at the Bruce Mason Centre, Takapuna, and would welcome the support of Association members - tickets at $3 from the Box Office or Ticketmaster.
Add weekly practice night into the mix and all-in all it’s a pretty tough programme for a Reserve (volunteer) Band.
