Message from the Colonel Commandant

Greetings to all Gunners.
On behalf of the Association I wish you all a very relaxing Christmas and a prosperous 2011.
It has probably been a very busy year for you all, with some momentous occasions and sad times. Our Canterbury gunners are still working to recover from the earthquakes; on the West Coast the gunner community is coping with the Pike River explosion which killed close friends and associates; and, we lost a number of long serving and well known gunners including Fred Biggwither, Alan Boyd, John Masters, Morrie Stanley and John Valintine, as well as a number of other Association members.
The Regiment in Linton and Christchurch continues its very busy and important work as it focuses on its operational deployments and preparation for these, its new equipments and technical gear and ongoing support to others throughout NZ, as well as its core training and skill development to support future operations. The Regiment has an equally challenging year ahead.
The whole gunner community has been as busy and involved as ever, and long may that last. It is one of the things that makes us what we are.
With best wishes to all.
Ubique
