As the finale for the visit of the United States Marine Corps party from San Diego the Regiment had a farewell day on Independence Day, 4th July.
The day started with a parade of 16 Field Regiment, 1 Engineer Regiment and the United States Marine Corps detachment which was a mixture of gunners and engineers.
The Marines were from 11 USMC Regiment, a gunner regiment, which had fought in Korea with 16 Field Regiment. There are notes attached of the two major battles where 16 Field Regiment supported the Marines.
