History of the Long Tan Cross

Here is an interesting webpage under development on the history of the Long Tan Cross.
Note that the original Cross is being loaned to the Australian War Memorial Museum for around 6 weeks, starting in about a month’s time, to coincide with a major exhibition at the Museum on the Vietnam war. The Cross has been held by a Vietnamese war museum near Bien Hoa since the late 1980s, with the Cross at Long Tan itself a replica now for many years.
The initial ceremony will be the receipt of the Cross by AWM 17 Aug, followed by those gathered for the 17 Aug ceremony participating in the Vietnam Veterans Day parade and functions next day in Canberra, 18 August.
