The first Vietnam Veteran's Day was celebrated in Wellington on Thursday 18 August. Despite icy weather and blustery showers the National Memorial was almost filled by Vietnam Veterans and friends. This augers well for the future years, especially with the contribution from Tuterangi Pleydell and Ingrid Gerritsen on behalf of the grandchildren of veterans.
"We will remember them"

Maori TV, TVNZ and Radio NZ were present and items are being screened/played on all of them.
