Terry and Ellen Culley took part in the dedication service with about 40 other Vietnam Veterans, their families and the local iwi in honouring our fallen on ANZAC Day 2011.
The local iwi, Ngati Tukorehe sealed a new alliance between themselves and Tumatauenga ki Vietnam, the Vietnam Veterans, marking the occasion by planting a Rimu Tree.
The iwi have extended an invitation to all Vietnam Veterans and their families to come and pay their respects to our boys. For those of us who are motorhome or caravan tourists, add a visit to Ruapeka Marae on your list of things to do.
The photos will give you an idea of the memorial and especially the high standard of the two engraved pounamu stones which are a feature of the display.
