The Dinner on 16 August is a Formal Regimental Dinner put on by the Battalion for all those eligible to wear the new UCG. The Battalion will be represented by existing Officers, Senior NCO’S, Past C.O.s and past RSM”s. Partners are not invited, but next of kin of our people who died at Long Tan or passed away since are invited. This would include Mrs Stanley.
I am waiting to hear from DVA or Defence about travel and accommodation assistance and will put all information in a newsletter as soon as possible. Early indications are that they are considering providing two nights accommodation and reasonable travel expenses. Should have more news by the end of next week.
If you are talking to any of the 161 boys tell them I need numbers quickly and money to be paid by the end of July. I also emailed your Association with all the details early last week.
