Sitrep from 39 Mor Bty in Christchurch

The Bty is now well and truly in the sentry mode doing 12 hrs on, 24 hrs off. The soldiers spirits are still up, and they are all performing to a very high standard, displaying the normal kiwi soldier traits of common sense, fairness and compassion. It has been an eye opening experience dealing with the emergency, and I think I speak for everyone at the Bty, that we have seen the very best in people and, unfortunately, the very worst (although very few and far between). We do not have a clear view of the end date for this, however we will carry on until we are told to stop. Thank you for your thoughts and efforts.
