After the stroke last Thursday, [11 March] Mike has regained full use of his limbs and body motions. His brain is as active as ever but he has difficulty structuring sentences and suffers from short term memory loss as within a conversation he will need to ask a number of times what your name is. He is continually improving and will hopefully be released from hospital soon. The Doctors consider he was very lucky.
He hates it in hospital and has had many visitors from his friends and colleagues from Waikeria Prison. He should be able to return to the workforce some time in the future.
I keep in daily contact with Marilyn and have spoken to Mike who appears more concerned that Marilyn has "washed his shirt for work". Generally most days she is at the hospital supporting Mike.
